I only took a star for the lack of directions. The center pins were a 9/16" head so I did have to drill the perches. After extensive searcing of the forum and elsewhere, I will say that the negative reviews of the ride are overstated. Yes the springs are stiffer but RC has come a long way from 3-5 years ago. The ride is good. The nitro shocks work well. The truck takes the bumps and along with the urethane bushings and a set of 5" CPT shackles, I am impressed with the overall system. Don't forget to purchase the extended brake line set. The little bit of fabrication/modification work is nothing when you consider that there are still companies that support the IH line 33 years after production has ended

My 1972 Scouts factory springs had sagged, a lot. I did not want to go too high, but still wanted somthing that worked with the 31.5 X 10.5 tires I run.
This kit was exactly what I needed, 2 1/2" lift (6" is what my Scout II actually gained, the factory springs were real bad), wheels look like they fit. Ride is stiffer but not harsh, the nitro shocks do their job great.
I only gave the kit a 4 star rating as there were some installation issues. The rear springs centering pin was too big to fit the spring plates and the rear shocks mounting bolts were larger than the upper mounting holes. Nothing a little drilling could not fix, but something that was not expected.
Off road handling is drastically improved, highway driving is better but still has a little more wander than I like (might add caster shims later, just need to figure out how much I need).
